Working to build a new iPad Bible!

Dearest J,

I’ve slowly been working on progress for building a new KJV Bible for iPad Journaling with Stylus! I’ve been working on really digging into the Affinity product suite, which has been a really tough learning experience. I originally was using Google and even tried Apple Pages, but honestly there’s so much really cute customization that I want to do (crazy creative stuff) that I just felt it would limit me too much.

I’m even considering jumping into Figma to embed stuff, but I’m just not sure yet how to manage it all. At least in the workflow with Affinity, I can easily jump between Publisher, Designer, and probably in the future Photo as well. Them getting bought out by Canva also will bring up some new opportunities, like building stickers, presentations, etc. It’s a lot of work!

Also, after I finish building building it, I want to start building out tutorials as well as Bible Studies. And on top of that, I found a really great resource to actually design my own free 40-credit Bible Studies MA (I’ll show the screenshot below).

Building a iPad Journaling Bible (KJV)

Day 1:

A sample cover … work in progress as this is not going to be the final! I was really inspired by HappyDownloads, so obviously you’ll see that inspiration throughout. But I just wanted to use that as a basis before venturing out after throwing my initial designs together.

Day 1:

Again, the spread (ahh I know that spiral looks SO weird, but I actually want to illustrate my own ribbons! I’ll get to it, hopefully tomorrow).

Also, I’m realizing that Genesis alone … is 108 pages! The file size of this has been surprising small, but I think if I want to include the entire Bible, this is going to be a Godzilla of a PDF. But then again, I so desperately want to do this, that I might just do it regardless for myself because I love digital Bible Journaling SO MUCH and just haven’t seen anything like this. Something for me!

This would be an amazing app which I’d love to build next, but I feel like I really need to work out the kinks here, and at least get some sales / interest for this. This is a faster way … and might help grow my app as well as some strategy / thinking / working from scratch through a longer (but potentially more fruitful) long-term process.

PS: If you’re reading this and would like to donate to help fund the app, I’d be most grateful!

Honestly the only reason I’m even really posting this is to see how far this will come … because I’m confident it will get much better! But it’s always cool to document the beginnings :)

Getting an Advanced Theological Degree!

Through this site I was able to find a really really really cool way of “hacking” an MA in Biblical Studies by taking on a 60-credit course load.

Link to the course list

This is loosely based on a 60-credit MA in Biblical Studies offered by Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

How cool is this? I think it’d make sense for me to go ahead and study this along the same path of me taking on doing Fayth™.

Building a new iPad Workspace

So that’s it for today, J! Lastly, I organized my iPad and am totally in love. I got the background as a freebie through HappyDownloads, which I’m really appreciative of. I figured I’d show off how much I love my iPad here now :)

Lastly, here’s some documentation of me really flushing out the behind the scenes for Fayth™, ranging from a wide variety of things I’m hoping to accomplish via this platform. For now … there’s SO much in the works. But I’m just trying to keep it kosher! (sic)

That’s all for now … in the meantime,

♡ xo, Fay
