UU Spiritual Practice, Seminary + Recovery

Dearest J,

For a hot second, I seriously considered going into seminary. From potentially getting ordained to looking into going to seminary myself (since my sister was going to do that) … you know, I’m thinking about things.

So UU apparently has their own schools that feed into becoming a UU minister, but also looking into some of the recovery resources (which seem to stem from God-belief and 12-step stuff).

UU - Spiritual Practices/Disciplines/Faith Development

  • Ghost Ranch
Workshops and retreats. Abiqui and Santa Fe, NM, locations.

  • Scarritt-Bennett Center
    Retreat center in Nashville, TN.

  • Shalem Institute
Shalem provides programs and support for spiritual directors, clergy, leaders of contemplative prayer groups and retreats who seek to deepen their relationships with God and bring the gifts of contemplative living and leadership to their ministries.

  • UU Spiritual Directors Network
The Unitarian Universalist Spiritual Directors' Network consists of over 40 practicing spiritual directors, both ministers and lay people. They include those of Christian, Buddhist, Pagan, Theist, Humanist and other belief systems. Most have participated in formal spiritual direction training programs.
