Dearest J,

Today is the day I’ve lost all respect for my sister, all respect for fundamentalist evangelicalism, and all respect in general for religious fanaticism.

My sister refused to show me this book she thought to put into a little bookshelf. And LO AND BEHOLD it was a book on … EVOLUTION!

I asked her what it was about, and she said it’s unbiblical and a hoax. Like literally made up.

She proceeded to go to Walmart, and rip the book up there and on the way inside, and throw it out inside.

THROW OUT AND RIP UP A BOOK ON EVOLUTION!?

I told her … I CANNOT believe you did that. And you know what her response was? It should be “burned” just like tarot cards. Honestly … WTF is my sister on … oh let me guess … toxic fundamentalism.

It’s so insane to me that people who are well-educated (which she was by the way, we grew up learning evolution). And I’m not so sure why I’m surprised, but I’m disappointed.

And at this point, makes me also question humanity as we know it. Like, she believes dinasaurs roamed the earth with Jesus Christ and was on Noah’s Ark. I mean … I JUST CAN’T.
